Lightlure
This Alfords Point home’s renovation was to create more of an open-flow in a contemporary style with a Hamptons influence. Internal walls were removed which successively lures in the afternoon sunlight. Light now floods through to the kitchen and the newly appointed casual sitting area, hence the project’s name ‘Lightlure’. The dining space next to the kitchen was removed to generate more space for the relaxed casual sitting area which in turn increased the efficiency of traffic flow from the bedrooms and bathroom to the dining and lounge room.
The entire space is painted in a lovely mid-warm white, sheer curtains were introduced to add softness and black hardware and furniture details were added to give definition. While the spaces portray a contemporary aethetic initially, if you look closer the Hamptons influence becomes known in the statement solid timber dining table, white herringbone sideboard, the rustic wood side table and lineal elements in the master bedroom. The colour palette of the furnishings was also inspired by the Hamptons style being of soft blues and neutrals, which bounce off a luxurious backdrop of textures such as white boucle fabric, characteristic wood, French linen’s and natural stones.
